Who we help
The Worry Jar supports children and young people aged 8–16 who are feeling a little anxious, overwhelmed or stuck. We offer gentle, online support so they don’t have to carry everything on their own. Through a child-centred approach, children are given a safe space to explore their emotions, feel understood and build confidence.
Ages:
We work with children aged 8–11 & young people aged 12–16. Sessions are always age‑appropriate, calm and kind, with a nurture-based approach.
What your child might be going through:
Your child or teenager might be worrying a lot about school, friends or home, finding it hard to sleep or relax, feeling anxious, panicky or on edge, struggling with confidence or self–esteem, withdrawing, masking or having big outbursts. They don’t need a diagnosis for us to support them. Perhaps they're struggling with busy/noisy environments, finding transitions difficult, becoming overwhelmed & withdrawn, and don't quite have the words to explain how they feel. These feelings can build up over time, and if left unsupported, this will affect a child's school life, their learning capacity and their relationships.
How we support them:
We create a safe, online space where children and young people can be part of small nurture groups with others who “get it” or have 1:1 time to talk and be really listened to. Individuals will learn simple tools to calm their body and mind, build language for their feelings and needs and ultimately grow in confidence and resilience over time. Throughout the process, children are gently supported to explore & manage their emotions through gentle conversations and by connecting with others.
Is this right for my child?
The Worry Jar is a good fit for your family if your child is struggling with worries or big feelings and would benefit from gentle, structured support to help them find their way. Maybe you've tried other options that just aren't working. If you’re unsure, we can talk it through together and explore things in more detail.
